Madlen Manoukian
Armenian Teacher, Secondary
My name is Madlen Manoukian, and I am honored to be part of the Blair High School community as a teacher of Armenian Language and Literature / World Languages. I hold a Master’s degree from Armenia and a Bachelor’s degree in Armenian Language & Literature. In addition, I have earned a Single Subject Credential in Armenian language (K-12), a CLAD certificate, and a Site Supervisor Permit. I have also completed specialized coursework in World Language Methodology and Hayrenagitagan, which has strengthened both my teaching practice and my ability to connect students with their cultural and linguistic heritage.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment where students feel respected, supported, and motivated to reach their fullest potential.
As Silva Kaputikyan, Armenian author, so beautifully reminds us, «Լեզուն ժողովրդի պատմությունն է» (“Language is the history of the people”). Guided by this vision, my mission as an educator is to inspire students to cherish and preserve their language and culture, while also equipping them with the skills and confidence to thrive in a diverse and interconnected world.
In addition to teaching, I enjoy contributing to the academic and cultural community by writing articles and sharing insights on language, literature, and heritage education.
I am excited to continue my journey here at Blair High School, and I look forward to a school year filled with growth, creativity, and collaboration.
